Ruthven Barracks (stables at left), just across the road from the Ruthven Steadings B&B.

Built in 1721 (on a drumlin that was previously occupied by other forts and castles) to help control the locals after the "Rising" of 1715, this site was burned by the Jacobites in 1746 and has remained in this ruined state ever since. Jackdaws and wagtails inhabit it now.
